Rome Free Academy Black Knights (Rome, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Oneida Express (Oneida, NY), 15-6 in a league challenge.

The Black Knights now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they host Vernon-Verona-Sherrill for a Section 3 Tri-Valley challenge on Thursday, May 9. Rome Free Academy will battle a Red Devils squad coming off a 24-2 league loss to Notre Dame (Utica, NY). The Red Devils record now stands at 0-13.

With the loss, Oneida falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Express travel to Proctor (Utica, NY) to battle the Raiders in a Section 3 Tri-Valley challenge on Thursday, May 9. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 3-11. Proctor lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Carthage (Carthage, NY)
