The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) and the host Peoria Notre Dame Irish (Peoria, IL), saw Lincoln's baseball team get by Peoria Notre Dame by a margin of 8-7.
The Railsplitters (9-14) will now prepare for their battle against Clinton (Clinton, IL). The Maroons enter the non-league battle with a 12-12 record. In their last battle, Clinton held off Central A & M (Moweaqua, IL), 10-9, in a league battle.
Next, the Irish face the Normal West Wildcats (Normal, IL) in a Big Twelve battle, on Friday, May 9. Peoria Notre Dame will attempt to improve on its 11-14 season record. The Wildcats enter the battle with a 18-9 record after their 16-0 league win over Danville (Danville, IL).
