The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Red River Roughriders (Grand Forks, ND) and the visiting Shanley Deacons (Fargo, ND), observed Red River's softball team get by Shanley by a tally of 7-4.

The Roughriders (7-6) will now prepare for their bout against Beulah (Beulah, ND). The Miners go into the non-league bout with a 15-5 record.

In their next game, the Deacons clash with the Sheyenne Mustangs (West Fargo, ND) in a Class A - East Region bout, on Tuesday, May 13. Shanley will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record.
