Liberty Lancers (Spangle, WA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA), 12-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lancers now sport a 17-2 record. They take the field next when they host Northwest Christian School for a 2B Bi-County challenge on Tuesday, May 10.

With the loss, Newport falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Deer Park (Deer Park, WA) to face the Stags in a 1A Northeast challenge on Wednesday, May 11. The Stags enter the challenge with a record of 10-4. Deer Park lost 7-2 in their recent league challenge against Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls, WA)
