The Simsbury Trojans routed the visiting New Britain Golden Hurricanes softball squad by a count of 12-6 in Monday's league battle.

The Trojans (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against Avon (Avon, CT). The Falcons go into the non-league battle with a 8-3 record. In their last battle, Avon nudged Platt (Meriden, CT), 12-0, in a non-league battle.

The Golden Hurricanes now sport a 2-9 record. They play next when they travel to Wethersfield for a non-league battle on Wednesday, May 11. New Britain will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 20-7 non-league loss to Maloney (Meriden, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 8-4.
