North Boone Vikings (Poplar Grove, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Beloit Sobos (South Beloit, IL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 18-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stillman Valley for a Big Northern challenge on Tuesday, May 10. North Boone will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 15-5 non-league win over Woodstock North (Woodstock, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 12-8.

With the loss, South Beloit falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Sobos host Alden-Hebron (Hebron, IL) to face the Green Giants in a Northeastern Athletic Conference challenge on Tuesday, May 10. The Green Giants enter the challenge with a record of 2-3.
