Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Sandwich Indians (Sandwich, IL), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Norsemen now own a 26-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sterling for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 13. Newark will battle a Golden Warriors squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Geneseo (Geneseo, IL). The Golden Warriors record now stands at 20-7.

With the loss, Sandwich falls to 12-11 on the campaign. The Indians host Kaneland (Maple Park, IL) to battle the Knights in a Interstate Eight challenge on Wednesday, May 10. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 9-13. Kaneland lost 8-3 in their recent league challenge against LaSalle-Peru (LaSalle, IL)
