The Newman Central Catholic Comets routed the visiting Somonauk Bobcats softball squad by a count of 10-0 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Comets (12-9) will now prepare for their battle against North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL). The Vikings go into the non-league battle with a 22-4 record. In their last battle, North Boone topped Dixon (Dixon, IL), 6-0, in a league battle.

The Bobcats now sport a 8-9 record. They play next when they host Amboy for a non-league battle on Thursday, May 11. Somonauk will meet a Clippers squad coming off a 16-14 league win over Milledgeville (Milledgeville, IL). The Clippers record now stands at 6-12.
