The Russell Red Devils softball team scored 5 runs and limited the host East Carter Raiders to 1 in the Red Devils non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Russell moves its record to 17-9 on the year. The Red Devils host Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY) to clash with the Lions in a District 63 game on Monday, May 13. The Lions come into the game with a record of 9-11.

In their next game, the Raiders clash with the Raceland Rams (Raceland, KY) in a non-league game, on Monday, May 13. East Carter will attempt to move on its 23-6 season record. The Rams come into the game with a 21-8 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Johnson Central (Paintsville, KY).
