Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mill Valley Jaguars (Shawnee, KS), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they host Seaman for a United Kansas challenge on Thursday, May 9. Piper will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 16-1 league win over Leavenworth (Leavenworth, KS). The Vikings record now stands at 19-6.

With the loss, Mill Valley moves to 3-12 on the season. The Jaguars host Blue Valley Northwest (Overland Park, KS) to meet the Huskies in a non-league match on Friday, May 10. The Huskies go into the match with a record of 4-10. Blue Valley Northwest lost 8-5 in their recent non-league match against Olathe East (Olathe, KS)
