The Woonsocket Villa Novans softball team scored 7 runs and limited the visiting Narragansett Mariners to 6 in the Villa Novans league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Woonsocket improves its record to 4-5 on the year. The Villa Novans travel to Johnston (Johnston, RI) to clash with the Panthers in a Division 2 game on Saturday, May 11. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 7-2. Johnston won 13-0 in their recent league game against Burrillville (Harrisville, RI)

In their next game, the Mariners clash with the Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI) in a Division 2 game, on Friday, May 10. Narragansett will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Patriots come into the game with a 7-4 record after their 12-1 league win over Barrington (Barrington, RI).
