Portland Bulldogs (Portland, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Scarborough Red Storm (Scarborough, ME), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sanford for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 10. Portland will face a Spartans squad coming off a 25-1 non-league loss to Biddeford (Biddeford, ME). The Spartans record now stands at 0-9.

With the loss, Scarborough falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Red storm host Windham (Windham, ME) to face the Eagles in a Class A South challenge on Friday, May 10. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 9-0. Windham won 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Massabesic (Waterboro, ME)
