The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Reed-Custer Comets (Braidwood, IL) and the host Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL), saw Reed-Custer's baseball team gain a win over Seneca by a tally of 17-1.

The Comets (15-12) will now prepare for their battle against St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL). The Spartans enter the non-league battle with a 27-2 record. In their last battle, St. Joseph-Ogden prevailed over Tolono Unity (Tolono, IL), 10-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Fighting Irish face the St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) in a Tri-County battle, on Monday, May 12. Seneca will attempt to upgrade on its 8-19 season record. The Bruins enter the battle with a 21-4 record after their 12-3 non-league win over Newark (Newark, IL).
