The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the DeKalb Barbs (DeKalb, IL) and the host Larkin Royals (Elgin, IL), observed DeKalb's softball team notch a victory over Larkin by a tally of 21-1.

The Barbs (8-6) will now prepare for their bout against Byron (Byron, IL). The Tigers go into the non-league bout with a 1-2 record. In their last bout, Byron gained a win over Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL), 20-5, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Royals battle the Aurora East Tomcats (Aurora, IL) in a bout, on Monday, May 12. Larkin will attempt to advance on its 0-4 season record.
