The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Carroll Chargers (Fort Wayne, IN) and the host DeKalb Barons (Waterloo, IN), observed Carroll's softball team get by DeKalb by a tally of 6-0.

The Chargers (13-4) will now prepare for their bout against Wawasee (Syracuse, IN). The Warriors go into the non-league outing with a 7-12 record. In their last outing, Wawasee was routed by Mishawaka (Mishawaka, IN), 19-2, in a league outing.

With the loss, DeKalb moves to 9-10 on the season. The Barons host Norwell (Ossian, IN) to encounter the Knights in a Northeast Eight outing on Monday, May 12. The Knights come into the outing with a record of 10-6. Norwell won 14-3 in their recent non-league outing against Heritage (Monroeville, IN)
