In Friday's non-league match, the host Highland Park Giants softball team scored a tight 5-1 victory over the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees.
The Giants (10-6) will now prepare for their match against Vernon Hills (Vernon Hills, IL). The Cougars go into the non-league match with a 8-19 record. In their last match, Vernon Hills was routed by Buffalo Grove (Buffalo Grove, IL), 6-5, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Zee-Bees battle the Grayslake Central Rams (Grayslake, IL) in a non-league match, on Saturday, May 10. Zion-Benton will attempt to better on its 6-10 season record. The Rams go into the match with a 9-10 record after their 8-6 non-league loss to Warren Township (Gurnee, IL).
