The North Polk Comets softball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Chariton Chargers to 3 in the Comets non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, North Polk improves its record to 10-2 on the year. The Comets host Carlisle (Carlisle, IA) to clash with the Wildcats in a Raccoon River game on Monday, June 3. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 10-2. Carlisle won 11-5 in their recent non-league game against Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA)

In their next game, the Chargers clash with the North Mahaska Warhawks (New Sharon, IA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, June 1. Chariton will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Warhawks come into the game with a 4-2 record after their 10-4 league win over Iowa Valley (Marengo, IA).
