North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host St. Edmond Gaels (Fort Dodge, IA), 11-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Comets now own a 18-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Winterset for a Raccoon River challenge on Wednesday, June 12. North Polk will face a Huskies squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Saydel (Des Moines, IA). The Huskies record now stands at 12-9.

With the loss, St. Edmond falls to 10-2 on the campaign. The Gaels host Clear Lake (Clear Lake, IA) to face the Lions in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 12. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Clear Lake lost 15-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Mason City (Mason City, IA)
