Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 7-10 record. They take the field next when they host South Hardin for a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 13. Grundy Center will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over AGWSR (Ackley, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Columbus falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Sailors host Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA) to battle the Falcons in a North Iowa Cedar - Central challenge on Thursday, June 13. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 5-8. Aplington-Parkersburg won 11-3 in their recent league challenge against Denver (Denver, IA)
