The Lone Tree Lions routed the visiting Van Buren County Warriors softball squad by a count of 9-3 in Wednesday's non-league battle.

The Lions (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Columbus (Columbus Junction, IA). The Wildcats go into the SE IA Super - North battle with a 2-11 record. In their last battle, Columbus nudged New London (New London, IA), 9-6, in a non-league battle.

The Warriors now sport a 6-6 record. They play next when they host New London for a SE IA Super - South battle on Thursday, June 13. Van Buren County will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 13-4 non-league loss to Hillcrest Academy (Kalona, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-9.
