The Newell-Fonda Mustangs baseball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Northwood-Kensett Vikings to 2 in the Mustangs non-league win on Thursday.
The Mustangs now hold a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spirit Lake for a non-league test on Thursday, June 12. Newell-Fonda will play a Indians team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to West Lyon (Inwood, IA). The Indians record now stands at 9-2.
With the defeat, Northwood-Kensett drops to 3-8 on the year. The Vikings travel to Osage (Osage, IA) to play the Green Devils in a non-league test on Friday, June 13. The Green Devils go into the test with a record of 5-4.
