The Ballard Bombers got by the visiting Sioux City East Black Raiders softball squad by a count of 10-9 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Bombers meet the Wahlert Golden Eagles (Dubuque, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, June 13. Ballard will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 8-0 league win over Dubuque Senior (Dubuque, IA).
The Black Raiders (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Valley (West Des Moines, IA). The Tigers go into the non-league challenge with a 10-6 record. In their last challenge, Valley was nudged by Ankeny Centennial (Ankeny, IA), 8-0, in a non-league challenge.
