The Cascade Cougars got by the host Hudson Pirates softball squad by a count of 7-6 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Cougars meet the Clayton-Ridge Eagles (Guttenburg, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, June 16. Cascade will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Eagles go into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 8-5 league win over Central (Elkader, IA).
The Pirates (9-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Denver (Denver, IA). The Cyclones go into the North Iowa Cedar - Central challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, Denver held off Turkey Valley (Jackson Junction, IA), 10-0, in a non-league challenge.
