North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA) supporters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Marion Wolves (Marion, IA), 8-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, North Polk improves its record to 12-4 on the year. The Comets host Carroll (Carroll, IA) to play the Tigers in a Raccoon River game on Monday, June 16. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 0-11. Carroll lost 12-7 in their recent non-league game against East Sac County (Lake View, IA)

The Wolves now hold a 5-11 record. They play next when they travel to Xavier for a non-league game on Friday, June 13. Marion will play a Saints squad coming off a 21-0 non-league win over Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA). The Saints record now stands at 17-0.
