The Pocahontas Indians (Pocahontas, IA) softball nipped the visiting West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA), 2-1 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Indians now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lawton-Bronson for a non-league outing on Friday, June 13. Pocahontas will encounter a Eagles team coming off a 10-2 league win over River Valley (Correctionville, IA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, West Monona moves to 10-6 on the season. The Spartans travel to Woodbury Central (Moville, IA) to encounter the Wildcats in a Western Valley outing on Monday, June 16.
