The Gehlen Catholic Jays routed the visiting Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union Royals softball squad by a count of 14-8 in Friday's league battle.
The Jays (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Sioux Center (Sioux Center, IA). The Warriors go into the non-league battle with a 6-7 record. In their last battle, Sioux Center was routed by Unity Christian (Orange City, IA), 10-6, in a non-league battle.
The Royals now sport a 6-9 record. They play next when they travel to Trinity Christian for a non-league battle on Monday, June 17. Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 7-2 league loss to Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 8-3.
