The Chariton Chargers softball team scored 7 runs and held the host Fairfield Trojans to 3 in the Chargers non-league win on Saturday.

The Chargers now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Centerville for a South Central battle on Monday, June 16. Chariton will confront a Big Reds/Redettes team coming off a 9-0 league loss to Albia (Albia, IA). The Big Reds/Redettes record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Fairfield moves to 8-7 on the season. The Trojans travel to Burlington (Burlington, IA) to confront the Grayhounds in a Southeast battle on Monday, June 16. The Grayhounds come into the battle with a record of 0-0.
