The Gilbert Tigers triumphed over the visiting Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars softball squad by a count of 10-3 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Tigers meet the Boone Toreadors (Boone, IA) in a Raccoon River challenge, on Monday, June 16. Gilbert will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Toreadors enter the challenge with a 10-7 record after their 9-0 non-league loss to Xavier (Cedar Rapids, IA).

The Cougars (9-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Wapsie Valley (Fairbank, IA). The Warriors enter the North Iowa Cedar - East challenge with a 17-2 record. In their last challenge, Wapsie Valley edged Jesup (Jesup, IA), 11-9, in a league challenge.
