The Columbus Sailors nudged the visiting Alburnett Pirates baseball team by a tally of 12-11 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Sailors now hold a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hudson for a non-league bout on Monday, June 17. Columbus will face a Pirates team coming off a 14-13 non-league win over Dike-New Hartford (Dike, IA). The Pirates record now stands at 10-6.
Next, the Pirates face the Starmont Stars (Arlington, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, June 17. Alburnett will attempt to advance on its 18-7 season record. The Stars enter the bout with a 12-5 record after their 5-2 league win over Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA).
