The Independence Mustangs softball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Waukon Indians to 1 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Independence moves its record to 12-14 on the year. The Mustangs host Grinnell (Grinnell, IA) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league game on Monday, June 17. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 9-10. Grinnell won 3-0 in their recent non-league game against Solon (Solon, IA)

In their next game, the Indians clash with the Crestwood Cadets (Cresco, IA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, June 18. Waukon will attempt to move on its 6-9 season record. The Cadets come into the game with a 9-6 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA).
