The Humboldt Wildcats edged the host Forest City Indians softball squad by a count of 9-8 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Wildcats play the Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, June 20. Humboldt will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 11-8 record after their 17-15 non-league loss to Grinnell (Grinnell, IA).
The Indians (6-5) will now prepare for their challenge against North Union (Armstrong, IA). The Warriors enter the Top of Iowa-West challenge with a 12-2 record. In their last challenge, North Union edged Spencer (Spencer, IA), 6-0, in a non-league challenge.
