In Friday's non-league game, the host Benton Bobcats baseball team scored a nice 11-1 win over the West Branch Bears.
The Bobcats (17-5) will now prepare for their game against Solon (Solon, IA). The Spartans go into the non-league game with a 13-8 record. In their last game, Solon knocked off Grinnell (Grinnell, IA), 11-7, in a non-league game.
Next, the Bears play the West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) in a River Valley - South battle, on Monday, June 23. West Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Comets enter the battle with a 12-9 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Kennedy (Cedar Rapids, IA).
