The Independence Mustangs triumphed over the host MFL MarMac Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 15-1 in Friday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Mustangs meet the Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings (Edgewood, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, June 21. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 22-6 record after their 8-7 non-league loss to Beckman (Dyersville, IA).
The Bulldogs (2-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Postville (Postville, IA). The Pirates enter the Upper Iowa challenge with a 0-8 record.
