Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Central Blue Devils (Maynard, IA), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 9-13 record. They take the field next when they host South Winneshiek for a non-league challenge on Thursday, June 22. Oelwein will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 21-3 non-league win over Postville (Postville, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 15-9.

With the loss, West Central falls to 4-16 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Springville (Springville, IA) to battle the Orioles in a non-league challenge on Friday, June 23. The Orioles enter the challenge with a record of 9-18. Springville lost 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Alburnett (Alburnett, IA)
