The Mt. Vernon Mustangs routed the host Iowa City Little Hawks softball squad by a final score of 6-0 in Friday's non-league battle.
The Mustangs (25-7) will now prepare for their battle against Fort Dodge (Fort Dodge, IA). The Dodgers go into the non-league battle with a 20-6 record. In their last battle, Fort Dodge held off North Scott (Eldridge, IA), 4-3, in a non-league battle.
The Little Hawks now possess a 9-10 record. They play next when they travel to Alburnett for a non-league battle on Saturday, June 22. Iowa City will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 9-1 non-league loss to North Scott (Eldridge, IA). The Pirates record now stands at 26-4.
