Western Dubuque Bobcats (Epworth, IA) backers left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting West Delaware Hawks (Manchester, IA), 5-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Western Dubuque upgrades its record to 9-6 on the year. The Bobcats host Linn-Mar (Marion, IA) to play the Lions in a Mississippi Valley - Valley game on Thursday, July 3. The Lions enter the game with a record of 19-2.

The Hawks now own a 13-8 record. They play next when they travel to South Tama County for a non-league game on Monday, June 23. West Delaware will play a Trojans squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to East Marshall (Le Grand, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 1-15.
