The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Cardinal Comets (Eldon, IA) and the host Wayne Falcons (Corydon, IA), observed Cardinal's softball team get by Wayne by a final score of 2-1.

The Comets (22-7) will now prepare for their bout against Centerville (Centerville, IA). The Big Reds/Redettes go into the South Central bout with a 13-9 record. In their last bout, Centerville tipped Fairfield (Fairfield, IA), 13-5, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Falcons battle the Nodaway Valley Wolverines (Greenfield, IA) in a Pride of Iowa bout, on Thursday, June 27. Wayne will attempt to better on its 19-4 season record.
