The crowd at Tuesday's non-league match between the Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) and the visiting Union Knights (La Porte City, IA), saw Grundy Center's softball squad nip Union by a count of 11-5.

The Spartans now sport a 7-19 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hudson for a non-league match on Wednesday, June 28. Grundy Center will face a Pirates squad coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Janesville (Janesville, IA). The Pirates record now stands at 16-16.

With the loss, Union falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA) to face the Raiders in a non-league match on Thursday, July 6. The Raiders enter the match with a record of 29-6.
