The Newell-Fonda Mustangs overwhelmed the host Humboldt Wildcats softball squad by a count of 7-1 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Mustangs meet the Algona Bulldogs (Algona, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, July 1. Newell-Fonda will attempt to upgrade on its 23-6 season record.
The Wildcats (10-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Iowa Falls-Alden (Iowa Falls, IA). The Cadets go into the non-league challenge with a 7-13 record. In their last challenge, Iowa Falls-Alden was routed by Webster City (Webster City, IA), 8-0, in a non-league challenge.
