The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA) and the host Spencer Tigers (Spencer, IA), observed Newell-Fonda's softball team get by Spencer by a tally of 4-3.
The Mustangs (18-8) will now prepare for their bout against Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids, IA). The Rebels go into the Twin Lakes bout with a 14-7 record. In their last bout, Sioux Central tipped Okoboji (Milford, IA), 8-0, in a non-league bout.
In their next game, the Tigers battle the Western Christian Wolfpack (Hull, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, June 30. Spencer will attempt to advance on its 7-15 season record. The Wolfpack go into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 7-5 non-league win over Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley (Rock Valley, IA).
