Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars (Sumner, IA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Turkey Valley Trojans (Jackson Junction, IA), 12-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 21-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Hampton for a non-league challenge on Thursday, July 6.

With the loss, Turkey Valley falls to 12-18 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Central (Elkader, IA) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Friday, June 30. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 7-16. Central won 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against West Central (Maynard, IA)
