In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Independence Mustangs softball team scored a tight 1-0 victory over the West Liberty Comets.

The Mustangs (19-19) will now prepare for their match against Oelwein (Oelwein, IA). The Huskies go into the non-league match with a 9-16 record.

In their next game, the Comets battle the Wilton Beavers (Wilton, IA) in a River Valley - South match, on Monday, July 1. West Liberty will attempt to better on its 18-9 season record.
