The Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) softball nipped the host Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs (Monroe, IA), 5-4 in Monday's non-league outing.
The Bulldogs now sport a 25-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center for a West Central outing on Tuesday, July 1.
With the loss, Prairie City-Monroe moves to 19-4 on the season. The Mustangs host Roland-Story (Story City, IA) to encounter the Norsemen in a Heart of Iowa outing on Tuesday, July 1. The Norsemen come into the outing with a record of 11-12. Roland-Story won 8-6 in their recent league outing against Saydel (Des Moines, IA)
