In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Hudson Pirates softball team scored a nice 9-1 victory over the Oelwein Huskies.

The Pirates (2-2) will now prepare for their match against Denver (Denver, IA). The Cyclones go into the North Iowa Cedar - Central match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Denver gained a win over Marquette (Bellevue, IA), 15-2, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Huskies battle the MFL MarMac Bulldogs (Monona, IA) in a non-league match, on Friday, June 6. Oelwein will attempt to better on its 3-3 season record. The Bulldogs go into the match with a 2-4 record after their 21-0 non-league loss to Edgewood-Colesburg (Edgewood, IA).
