In Monday's non-league outing, the host Norton Lancers softball team scored a close 9-2 win over the Fitchburg Red Raiders.

Coming up next, the Lancers face the Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, June 7. Norton will attempt to advance on its 19-2 season record. The Fishermen enter the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 15-12 non-league win over Medfield (Medfield, MA).

With the loss, Fitchburg falls to 12-9 on the campaign.
