The Marquette Defenders crushed the visiting Springville Orioles baseball team by a tally of 16-2 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Defenders now hold a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Iowa Valley for a non-league bout on Saturday, June 8. Marquette will face a Tigers team coming off a 9-0 league loss to Lynnville-Sully (Sully, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 5-3.
Next, the Orioles face the Starmont Stars (Arlington, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, June 10. Springville will attempt to advance on its 0-12 season record. The Stars enter the bout with a 7-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Midland (Wyoming, IA).
