West Bend-Mallard Wolverines (West Bend, IA) fans left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA), 7-3 in a league match.

With the triumph, West Bend-Mallard advances its record to 1-5 on the season. The Wolverines travel to Southeast Valley (Gowrie, IA) to battle the Jaguars in a Twin Lakes match on Monday, June 9. The Jaguars come into the match with a record of 3-4. Southeast Valley won 8-3 in their recent league match against Northwest Webster (Manson, IA)

The Mustangs now have a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Webster City for a non-league match on Saturday, June 7.
