The East Marshall Mustangs triumphed over the visiting Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings softball squad by a count of 8-0 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs play the South Hardin Tigers (Eldora, IA) in a North Iowa Cedar - West challenge, on Monday, June 9. East Marshall will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 16-7 league loss to AGWSR (Ackley, IA).

The Vikings (2-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Grinnell (Grinnell, IA). The Tigers enter the WaMaC-West challenge with a 9-0 record. In their last challenge, Grinnell overcame Ballard (Huxley, IA), 12-4, in a non-league challenge.
