Bedford Bulldogs (Bedford, IA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Central Decatur Cardinals (Leon, IA), 18-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they host Lamoni for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 10. Bedford will face a Demons squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Mormon Trail (Garden Grove, IA). The Demons record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Central Decatur falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Moulton-Udell (Moulton, IA) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, June 10. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Moulton-Udell lost 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Seymour (Seymour, IA)
