Central Lee Hawks (Donnellson, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fairfield Trojans (Fairfield, IA), 10-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 10-3 record. They take the field next when they host West Burlington for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 8. Central Lee will face a Falcons squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Mediapolis (Mediapolis, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 11-0.

With the loss, Fairfield falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Trojans host Cardinal (Eldon, IA) to face the Comets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 8. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 8-5. Cardinal lost 12-10 in their recent league challenge against Centerville (Centerville, IA)
